Not having found a hotel in El Escorial - (where we visited the palace and monastery) we found a 3 star hotel in Collado-Villalba a few km away. Renamed after a night there as Motel 5 in Bakersfield. on Sunday we continued to our final destination, Madrid, where we had a hotel reservation.
You would of thought that we had been gone from civilization for months, years - we did everything but drop to our knees and kiss the floor. We had a 4-star hotel....which traveling in Spain doesn´t mean much since I assume they give themselves the stars. But this one was a REAL 4!! I´m talking clean, soft bed sheets, big flatscreen, an internet room with laptops, a chill room, sauna, and airport shuttle. Ohhhhhhhh, it was wonderful.

Last dinner in Spain....do they look happy or what? |
Looks nice!! Very contemporary compared to all of the ancient sites and feelings you got on your walk I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteOh the ancient sites and the walk was great. It was more like the dirty sheets, silver fish and dead flea in my bed which was not nice. Toni
