The Mundane: Packing, printing boarding passes, hotel addresses, maps...

I am meeting two of my 5 sisters in Portugal later this week. We've decided to walk the 'Camino' to Santiago de Compostela. What is that, you ask? I know little but I'm intrigued by the little I know. I first heard about this walk from a work colleague. Maybe 5 or 6 years ago. I was intrigued then. Why would someone want to walk across Spain via France or Portugal to arrive in a small, spanish town on the western side of the country? I wasn't sure then, I'm not sure now yet I've committed to finding out why. Perhaps its not a 'why', maybe its a 'what', or a 'how' or a 'why not'? Maybe rather than this curiosity of a question, its more of a comment. I don't know.

I'm preparing for the trip in two days time. Am leaving for Las Vegas day after tomorrow then on to Madrid and then Porto, Portugal where we will begin our walk. I've heard the weather there is currently comparable to what we have here, beautiful bay area 70's in the day and 60's at night. What could be better? I've packed too much, I can tell right now, but I have a feeling I'll be shedding stuff as we go along. Perhaps that is one way we all make it through....
